2006 Marketing Survey Highlights

We’d like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Marketing survey. We learned a lot from you and, below, we’ve shared some highlights (and lowlights) including: your overall perception of Innovation Network, what our strengths are, and in what ways we can improve to better serve you.

  • 71% of you know us as Innovation Network while 43% of you refer to us as “InnoNet.”
  • In terms of our online presence, you refer to us more frequently as either “Innovation Network” (31%) or “InnoNet.org” ( 29%). You only refer to the “Point K Learning Center” 8% of the time.
  • You are very familiar with our suite of free online tools through Point K: OAT - 63%, EPB - 58% and LMB 57%.
  • You are equally “somewhat likely” (46%) and “very likely” (47%) to recommend us to their colleagues. Seven percent of you said that you are not likely to recommend us at all.
  • Some of the ways you describe us/ our services to others include:
    • Helpful & informative
    • I haven’t talked about it
    • Unless it would be in a conversation specifically that would come up related to the topic of the workshop I went to. I most likely would not bring it up
    • A leading nonprofit in the field of nonprofit capacity building
    • Useful online tools to focus efforts twd increased organizational capacity
    • A good source of info for program development and evaluation
    • An amazing tool for developing and articulating outcomes and planning evaluation
  • You told us some of the things that we should be doing to better serve you and some things that, frankly, we could be doing differently:
    • Better/ increased communication: more frequent e-mails/ newsletters reminding readers of your resources
    • More discussion group type activities
    • Better PR and Print marketing
    • I’m anxious to see your theoretical model
    • More services geared towards government agencies
    • Build more functionality - i.e. Google plan-give me more free goodies and I’ll be on your site everyday
    • Some kind of feedback - “real life” examples from practitioners
    • Print capability for projects/ products
    • Provide articles that I can read and use
    • Use one branding name to link all products and services

We value your opinions and we’re listening to you! The content of this newsletter was designed with this survey in mind to bring you the information that you want, when you want, and how you want it. In the future, through this forum and other forms of communication, we will continue to provide you with updates on our work, information about your peers and general evaluation industry information so that we can all continue the pursuit of self assessment and self improvement.
